Nontouring with our NEW Natural Contour & Highlight Duo

How to Master Nontouring using Natural, Vegan, Cruelty-Free Products from W3LL PEOPLE!

Dear Face: meet nontouring. Just when you thought the millionth YouTube tutorial attempt was going to help you master your contouring, the beauty world says “Move over!” and introduces you to Nontouring. Nontouring is the love-child of contouring and strobing, and is meant to produce slimming definition that is countered with a soft, lit-from-within glow. Thankfully this trend arrives just as we pull back the curtain on our newest, innovative creation: The Natural Contour and Highlight Duo.

Our The Natural Contour and Highlight Duo has two amazing products in one easy-to-use palette that is sure to make you a Nontouring pro in no time. Our green beauty master makeup artist, Shirley Pinkson, thinks of Nontouring as “instantly faking a facial”. The key is to contour with a cream bronzer that is a natural shade of matte brown, instead of too orange or fake, and then keep skin vibrant, dewy and radiant with a combination of tinted moisturizer and highlighter.

Nontouring using our natural, vegan, cruelty-free, nontoxic cosmetics is as simple as knowing how to swipe! All of our cream cosmetics are formulated with a powerful blend of coconut oil, organic aloe and chamomile. Our hydrating formula leaves your skin dewy while infusing it with nourishing, botanical ingredients that help treat and improve your skin’s appearance while you wear it. This new product is our solution to the over-done, too orange, not-at-all-natural bronzers and contouring kits. The The Natural Contour and Highlight Duo helps give your face a hint of color, helps you ad subtle definition where you want it, and most importantly it keeps your skin looking fresh, dewy and entirely natural.

To get your Nontour on, start by evening out your skin-tone using our Bio Tint Multi-Action Moisturizer with SPF 30. A tip from Shirley: apply Bio Tint using the pads of your fingers to gently blend into skin. Bio Tint Multi Action Moisturizer with SPF 30 is infused with broccoli seed oil, which allows it to spread evenly and absorb effortlessly into skin, but also prevents creasing while supplying your skin with a healthy dose of vitamin K.

Next, add some depth to your complexion using our Bio Bronzer Cream, included in the The Natural Contour and Highlight Duo. Apply and blend using your fingertips or our Flat Foundation Brush. Avoid using bronzer to define your nose or chisel your cheekbones, and instead focus on areas that would naturally be kissed by the sun — a touch of color on the top of your nose or center of your forehead is enough to help create the ethereal glow that Nontouring is known for.

The last step is the key to mastering your Nontour! We recommend using a cream highlighter that like our award-winning Bio Brightener Cream. Simply finish your look by highlighting the areas of your face where light would naturally hit it — just under your brow bone, down the bridge of your nose, on the cupids bow of your lips, and if you’re feeling adventurous, highlighter on the center of the forehead or just above the arch of the brow can also create a beautiful effect.

So, there it is, a brief introduction and tutorial on Nontouring using our new Natural Contour and Highlight Duo! Plan on giving it a go? We want to see! Share a photo of your look with us on Instagram by tagging @W3LLPEOPLE and #BEW3LL.

Keep that Glow!

vacation-glow-1

We are a bit biased, but we think our Green Makeup Pro Shirley Pinkson is the absolute master of the faux glow! We’ve watched in awe time and time again as she transforms complexions to look instantly sun-kissed, dewy and natural all year long. Here’s her three-step process for perfecting the faux glow so that you can hang on to your summer color just a little bit longer.

STEP ONE: Keep It Fresh

First things first—keep your base light and sheer. Shirley strongly suggests starting with a tinted moisturizer (we’ll debut one from W3LL PEOPLE later this year!), which will give you an effortless, light look. Next, apply our Bio Bronzer Powder to make your skin look sun-kissed. Sweep the bronzer down along your cheeks and along the bridge of your nose, where the sun naturally hits your face.

STEP TWO: You Glow, Girl!

We love simplicity, and you’ll find that our Elitist 2010 Eyeshadow Powder is a multi-tasking powerhouse! This color is Shirley’s secret weapon! 2010 is a pink champagne with a satin finish, helping even skin tone on your lids while providing a beautiful sheen. Try using it as a highlighter by lightly tapping it along orbital bones, arches, and along the center of your nose. You can also mix this shade into your favorite lipgloss for added dimension. If the skin on your face or body is feeling lackluster due to the transitioning seasons, you can also try popping a bit of our Elitist 2010 into your favorite face serum or body oil for lustrous skin from head to toe.

STEP THREE: Keep it Fun!

The spirit of summer is to be fun and carefree, and we love hanging on to that by transitioning to our Blue Expressionist Mascara. Although it looks bright in the tube, it goes on as a dark navy, creating a fun, eye brightening, youthful look for fall and winter.

To finish the look we added a quick swipe of our Bio Exptreme Lipgloss in Grapefruit. This lipgloss has penetrating, nourishing hydration with organic omega oils and aloe. It is a true luxury for your lips, keeping them soothed and protected, no matter the season.

Healthy Makeup Swap: Bio Bronzer

Healthy Makeup Swap: Toss the NARS Multiple Stick and replace it with W3LL PEOPLE's nontoxic Bio Bronzer!

You’ll hear a lot of celebrities, makeup artists and everyday average women proclaim that bronzer is the one product they can’t live without. Just a quick sweep of that rich brown color and the face is washed with a healthy glow. It’s so fast but so gratifying. Bronzer and mascara and I could basically survive anything, you know what I mean?

But what I can’t survive is getting up every morning and putting retinyl acetate onto my skin. Retinyl acetate is an ingredient in NARS multi-stick and it is linked to biochemical or cellular levle changes, cancer, developmental toxicity, reproductive toxicity, and organ system toxicity. Glam, right? On it’s list of ingredients you’ll also find propylparabens, which are a known endocrine disruptor . EWG’s Skin Deep Database rates the Nars Multi Stick as a 6, and I don’t know about you, but my skin and my health deserve better.

So toss that stick to the side and make room for our Bio Bronzer Stick. It’s EWG Skin Deep rating of 2 makes me supremely happy, and I know that with ingredients such as organic aloe leaf, olive oil, green tea and vitamin E it is treating and benefiting my skin while I wear it.

Our Bio Bronzer Stick is available in one universal shade that perfectly blends into your complexion to create a healthy, sun-kissed glow. Want tips on how to master the look? Check out last week’s Summer Skin Solution blog post for pro tips from our green beauty guru, Shirley Pinkson!
