In the beauty industry the change of seasons is often associated with color, but what is often overlooked is the change in the weather and how it might impact the products you apply to your skin.
Our green beauty guru, Shirley Pinkson, recently debuted our new Optimist Lipstick Collection on Instagram Story, and so many of you inquired about her makeup routine that we thought it was the perfect opportunity to walk you through Shirley’s everday fall beauty routine. Shirley says of our products, “All of our W3LL PEOPLE products have been formulated to perform as hybrid makeup x skincare products, which makes them ideal when transitioning from one season to the next. Beneficial ingredients such as aloe, coconut oil, jojoba oil, calming chamomile, or brightening peptides from algae, coffee and pomegranate help support your skin so that it can look it’s very best.”
“I start with the complexion,” she continued, “It’s no secret that winter is dry, but it’s often those weeks when the humid summer air leaves and the dry fall air moves in, that we can really feel it in our skin. I help support my skin through the transition by combining 1-2 drops of our Bio Booster Facial Serum with our Bio Tint Multi-Action Moisturizer. It creates a custom serum foundation that really infuses your skin with all the good stuff — turmeric, broccoli seed oil, macadamia oil, red raspberry oil, just to name a few! — along with a healthy glow and even skin tone! It’s truly skincare that you can wear all day.”
To finish off her complexion, Shirley sweeps our Bio Baked Bronzer from cheek to temple in a C shape for a fresh dose of warming color, and then pats the apples of her cheeks with our Nudist Multi-Use Stick in Nude Berry, her signature color!
To set the entire look, while also creating a soft focus, luminous finish, she sweeps a light layer of our Bio Baked Brightening Powder onto her entire face. Shirley explains, “A setting powder isn’t as important for me in the cooler months, which is why the Bio baked Brightening Powder is perfect. It sets your makeup to increase staying power but doesn’t make your skin matte. It allows you to keep that glowy, fresh look.”
Speaking of glowing skin, Pinkson offers up one of her pro tips, “Some people wake up with a glow. Some people don’t. Where you live, your skin type, your age, and even your hormones can impact how much of a glow your skin has naturally. There’s no shame in having to fake it, and we have the perfect product to do just that. If you want to turn up your glow even more, pop a small amount of our Bio Brightener Stick onto the peaks of your complexion (cheekbones, bridge of nose, and brow bone). Instant glow!”
Shirley is in love with every shade of our new Optimist Lipstick Collection and says she plans to make her fall and winter beauty routine all about the lips, “The Optimist isn’t just a lipstick, it’s a dose of moisture, hydration, and protection for your precious lips thanks to organic jojoba oil, aloe and cupuacu butter. It will help keep your lips soft and supple.”
She’s pairing the lipstick with understated eyes, explaining “I’m keeping things simple and bright on my eyes with just two coats of our Expressionist Mascara, and a tight line of the Expressionist Liquid Liner to define my lash-line. I then choose a long wearing, nourishing Optimist Lipstick shade that fits my mood for the day! Today I popped on Soulmate, which is a soft, understated peach. It’s one of the more subtle colors in the collection, and it perfectly compliments the color on my cheeks.”
We loved sharing Shirley’s go-to beauty routine with you and we hope that you gained some tangible tips that will help you transition your beauty routine this fall! #BEW3LL!
